Published on 05/24/11 at 02:16I was tempted by this card because it seemed reliable (more on that later) being well equipped on the basics: lantency, converters, drivers, general features. I wanted one thing more than anything, that it works and it does not crash. MOTU had fairly good reputation, they had big problems with firewire but this dark period seemed gone with the advent of USB 2 ..
UTILIZATION
This is where I am disappointed, I use it on a beautiful, recently purchased tower PC that has far more resources than necessary. And well I tell you plainly: it crashes ALL THE TIME, which is nice - plus all the computer crashes completly (it does not at any time the rest of the time). I find myself forced to reboot one time, 2 times, up to 6 times (last night) so that the drivers are finally stack.. When you're with your recording session guitarist who waits while contemplating the stars that fucks her really bad, she gets mad and one does not get anywhere. When it works, it is fine.

very disappointed. I was ready to pay the price for something stable and pro. If I can not find a solution I will go with RME little chance that I buy MOTU again.
