Topic Focusrite setup in Garageband - won't record
I'd appreciate any help regarding recording in Garageband and Focusrite audio interface. I've made sure that my system preferences are set so that Scarlett 2i2 is selected in the dropdown for sound input and output. Once in Garageband preferences, I've selected Scarlett 2i2 USB for the output and input device. However, when I attempt to record a simple vocal, nothing records. I simply get a running red timeline and no recording.

Can someone please advise me as to where I've missed the setup here? I'm new to Garageband and don't have a clue what to do, nor can I find any advice already posted.
