Topic Recording audio from electric piano - only playing back in one ear
Hi all,

I have the Scarlett 2nd gen which has a single input for instrument and a single input for microphone.

I have connected the cable shown in the image below to the audio outs of the piano and the other end into the audio interface.

However when I record some piano and play it back, its only playing in one ear. Is it possible to get it playing in both ears, or would the audio interface require two input plugs? One for each ear?

Thanks for your help.

Found out I had to change my IO settings in Pro tools to mono.

This can't be working right.
You tried to connect a stereo source on a single instrument input? These are not stereo... These are balanced inputs.
If left and right of the piano is the same you wil hear no sound or extremely soft.
And if it is not the same you will record the difference of left and right.

It's not about what you got to use ....    but how you use what you got...
