Thread Line inputs. 3/4. 5/6. with keyboards barely any signal

focus rite. 8i6 third generation
KORG PA4x
Yamaha PSR-SX 900
line outs to input 3/4. 5/6.

i have had this conversation with FOCUSRITE
they spill out a lot of technical gibberish and in the end im to use the 1/2 inputs because the signal is louder.

I didnt buy this 8 input 300 dollar unit just to be able to use inputs 1/2.
i wanted to be able to have my keyboards hooked up to the inputs of this unit without having to change jacks
but there is next to no signal from my SYNTHS ( maximum volume )
i can barely hear audio from SYNTHS in INPUT 3/4. 5/6

i use MAC OSX 10.14.6
3rd generation 8i6
Garageband latest version.

i had the first generation, still do but the software is impossible to understand yet i was able to hear both synths in all of its inputs

anyone having trouble with using a KEYBOARD in FOCUSRITES inputs 3/4. 5/6?
