My date of 1995 epiphone, the body is one piece mahogany, with mahogany set neck and rosewood in touch.
The mechanical types are Grover.
Tal perfect varnish.
It was built in t core.
The pickups are the legendary home epiphone stews.

UTILIZATION

The mechanisms are very mean, they never really tennu the agreement.
I was satisfied with the microphones at the beginning.
The violin is very good against.
It is heavy and access to acute biensur is difficult.
The knobs are blah, the problem is that the sound is good only if they are over 10, any decrease in the volume or Tone on one or other of the microphones frankly alters the sound.

SOUNDS

With the original pickups, the sound is worth the price of the guitar, very good for a beginner or an amateur looking too.
However the neck pickup can show a lot of subtle overdrive with lgre.
In general it is not the top but ... it is quite acceptable!

I changed the bridge pickup for a seymour Dunca SH6 distortion, and frankly depot ca! That said, Was that good sense?
After reflection, no ... the les paul is very nervous and the sound of the SD is the rich, powerful, precise, peevish, but ... it would be better on another guitar!

Now it is on the les paul is not a guitar for rock or thrash extreme.
these styles were a bit like the sound does not "come out" of the guitar, it's brid ... so much more bluesy up microphones and subtle, comfortable in the overdrive and distortion.
microphones rather intended to be so large saturation rather, in my opinion, undesirable.

I just ride my SD SH6 on my epiphone SG G400, the ca frankly the fact! the guitar seems more adapted such microphones, more nervous and more direct what ... Finally, that's another story!

so I then replaced the pickups with gibson HBR HBL and split ... ca and kills!
Regleg in a small luthier lz for the handle and the tune o matic and presto! guitar kills!

frankly the ca emerges, the sound is rich, beautiful, powerful, guitar and let live!

in splitter, then it's crazy! Imagine a simple micro les paul ... incongruous? Well think you can be is the is the best!

I put 10/10 after changing pickups

OVERALL OPINION

A good guitar for beginners, develop with pleasure!
the change of micro mechanical and will make outstanding guitar!
about the microphones, make the right choice and remember that this guitar is not for the thrash!
(Of violin making Epiphone mid 90's is he seems much better than the epi early 2000's, if you buy OCCAZ rather take an "old" epi)
