Value For Money :
Excellent
The connectors are MIDI, Jack, USB and a kind of SPDIF. There are 6 internal effects is low but the MPC is primarily a sequencer.
The connection is useful if the computer is no Compact Flash card and if a hard drive in the MPC. Personally I put my drumkits on the hard disk of the MPC and then I put my samples to use on the Compact Flash.
I recommend against for memory expansion, otherwise it is quickly limited.
UTILIZATION
I think the MPC is quite easy to access when you bump already on your computer (the instruction of their drums and others), after certain features deserve a look in the manual but since I have 2 that the open time.
We must also consider a change to the OS because Akai is, apparently, very rotten when we discover the JJOS (free and paid) as the function of CHOP (which can cut a sample into several slices and then assign them to pads) does not exist on the Akai OS, and is the main function of the MPC for me.
After, to travel around the machine on the menus, everything is shown on the face of the MPc, so no hassle.
SOUNDS
What attracted me to the MPC is also the famous grain (which is not as driven as the 2000 example) thanks to its compressor. The pads are famous thanks to Akai touch so special that when testing an MPD32, one can only laugh of these pieces of plastic that serve as a pad.
The thing to know is that it does not contain any sounds, except for the 15aine which are internal (and that can remove if you want) and not very useful. Therefore provide a large bank of sound.
OVERALL OPINION
I use it since I have, I had to spend ten hours on the day she arrived at home. It's been six months that I have to have it.
I rarely had the opportunity to use an MPC, but my choice went to 1000 for its next compact and portable, and USB port which does not carry around with all his cards too.
For the price I paid, it's a great value as an MPC in very good condition + + memory upgrade internal hard drive 60GB + JJOS1 paying 550 euros for it remains very reasonable.
If I had to make another choice, it would be the same, except that before making the MPC I evolved my collection of vinyl records to cut everything that happens!
