Published on 10/21/02 at 15:00I bought this guitar at Guitar Center. First of all, when dealing with guitar salesmen, know what you want, and dont let them talk you into something you dont. I bought the RG220 for $300. My price was reduced by $10 for a small mark on the peg head. It was a minor, and only visual defect.
Wow! Plug this thing in, and you can really have fun! Me and my friend would jam, and even though he was a bit better than i was, my guitar made up for me. The sound is amazing, and it is really a joy to play. And with the locking tremelo, it stays in tune pretty good, as long as you stay away from the whammo bar allot.
It has 2 humbuckers, and one of them {the lower one} which pumps out the bright, happy tones, when plugged in the when i switched to the lighter tunes the volume would get light too! So i have to turn up my volume knob on the guitar, and gain on the amp. I'm sure it could be fixed, but i never worried about it enough to go have it done.
Great! Feels good standing up, or sitting down. Besides the small little mark on it, it is visually impressive also. I suggest going to ibanez.com and going to their catalog page and downloading it. BUT DONT FALL IN LOVE WITH THE EXPENSIVE ONES!!! unless of course you can afford it.
This guitar was my first. I do not recomend it as a guitar to learn on, but rather for an guitarist that has had a cupple of years under his/her belt. It sounds great, and if you are ready for some awesome sounds[especially with a petal] then your looking at a very nice guitar.
