OVERALL OPINION

I bought two copies of this legendary microphone to a buddy that I had them at 55 € one (with stand and cable used). I never got used much, I am mostly recording occasionally, but I thought it was always nice to have the microphone at hand.
For the singing scene, no doubt, but it works where it interesting is that having recently done a comparison of miking guitar amps, and he did very well out well, especially in big mode distortion. At this level, I want to say that we should never have preconceived ideas about what a microphone is recording. Beware of the opinions of others and especially with regard to electric guitar sound. Between the guitar, amp, hp, microphone placement, sound card, the monitor system and of course personal taste, there may be many possible variations and what is good for one may be horrible for another. The best is still to be tested, but it is rarely possible under good conditions. Opinions are interesting to be sure not to make mistakes too, and when a microphone collects all the votes, we can be confident. But that does not mean that there is no other way possible.

OVERALL OPINION

I use it in concert for the vote.

Never taking his studio, too colorful and not specific enough.

This mic really colors the sound especially the bass and not very flattering for many voices.
Say that the reference microphone has become wide spread but it is not successful.

The last microphone I bought for shure is a voice in HF but with Beta 87A head.

For its sheer precision and nothing beats a condenser microphone for even a handheld microphone.

Is a microphone that I use for over ten years now. it's been, like many, my first microphone.

Instead of praising or destroyed, as happens too frequently, I prefer to draw up a realistic profile.

This is not the best microclimate in the world, but he does what he has to do quite well. It is quite true, although, like most shure it has its specific grain, slightly sparkling, slightly lisping when attacked too much and a small effect of loudness in the medium which is typical. The highs are there, although not open across. Note also that the "side thickly" described above can become an asset in metal or rock types for which he shows in his place. It is a micro uncritical use, possibly even the microphone as arranging for the live view of its extreme resistance to feedback. It does not require too much should "play the microphone," however, I blame him to quickly lose their effectiveness when we move away a little. Out for softer styles, it makes sense to move away a little, just to counteract the loudness in médlium (which some also call "aggression").

Now, without dec, I knew a lot more open, more dynamic, more defined. Certainly. But never to 130 euros, and rarely compatible with a stage use either, be aware that alternatives exist but at Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser, AKG and Neumann, to name only the best known.
