UTILIZATION

Without computer (rptition gnralement for me) it is very simple to use, fast and easy trs program, but for rglages in depth is not ca emptying remains superficial.

With computers, everything takes the scale, with the GuitarPort software (explained below) everything is simple. The structure is pdalier mtal, the switches are plastic but sturdy. SOUND QUALITY

I test this pedalboard with two other "mythical" Crank: Vox Tonelab the pedal and the Boss GT-8. Dja the Boss GT-8 is taken out of circuit. Finally, Vox and Line6 remains equal. I draw a following point, one is for those who n'on no computer (Vox) and one for those in a (Line6).

OVERALL OPINION

This is pdalier trs out its price is 500. I draw a huge potential on stage. With a computer, pedalboard is the most terrible of scne multi-effects and studio. Easy to use. The effects are not incidental at all ..... I'm not going back on everything that is said below, but more as an opinion I would intervene personally and a technical point of view ... For brevity I use the pod since October 2006 - the chamgement was brutal (using a zoom multi-effects related to BossMT2, I took a slap at his énormissime and counting), of course the sound is excellent and for 500 euros, when you see the infinity of settings offered by the baby you are always filled. I play in a training-oriented rather "alternative rock" but also tends to various styles (bossa, funk, ballads, progressive, or even metal) and assume that for all it can detonate! But let's say for a beginner with not necessarily a balanced config and powerful sound can quickly ring mail, beware of all beginners do not be discouraged should spend time there but the pod xt live is a dream machine: it can be out anything! (Just for example: the delays are flexible in the extreme, the effects of octaves very precise, the game sound very romantic) ... the only downside distos perhaps because they may lack punch and / or precision in touch -> but this detail can be offset by the updates that allow internet to download other sounds, including a bank dedicated to sound "metallic")
Personally I have not needed to connect even if only once in my pod software, it seems that it brings me a lot but it is very much in its original config!

It does not return the above it was said 15 times. With version 3 is 42 amps, 24 speakers and over 80 effects, in short, more than enough. In studio and on stage, of course, all with my Variax 300 I had acquired before the POD XT. The configuration is slightly more complicated than a Tonelab but not insurmountable. SOUND QUALITY

Sound: I also have a Tonelab SE (I sell for that matter) that I plugged my Variax. It was good but the sound was a bit "soft" at times and lacked potatoes mainly in the upper spectrum. The XT live with a standard guitar is great (I plug in my little Gibson All American II), the models are of very high rank and tiennentt compares favorably with the Tonelab, each of the two devices showing in turn better than the other depending on the type of amp. In short, all that is already very good. My Variax plugged into analog sounds as well as well or even better than the Tonelab is gaining momentum. My digital Variax plugged in via the specific port: THIS IS THE ATOMIC BOMB! The momentum is there, the heat too, we gain accuracy and authenticity paradoxically ... it sounds almost not (in any case altogether less) digital! It is extremely fast bleuffé provided by the realism. Coupled to the Variax Workbench: we no longer need anything, everything is there and everything is possible, a kind of dream come true. We play different amps all very usable, we have fun with different microphones, triturated, we change the body ... there are brief sounds allucinants, quickly light years of the "standard bal musette" Some criticize the Variax ... we save all that and again a miracle saved the program and remember not only the setting and chaining amps and effects but also the model used on the Variax and the position of the tone knob!

It's insane. I come back yet. I had a lot of modeling: a V-Amp, a Black Box, a Tonelab. The couple POD XT Live + Variax digital input via dedicated crushes (I think) everything can be known in terms of modeling and modeling I mean, I will not venture to compare it all to the real stuff hardware real lamp with a Les Paul. The config: At first it scared a lot of buttons and big manual, but soon we understand. And strangely I assimilated much more quickly than other stuff I've had before! So voila, I was looking for a pedal fairly easy to use, fast sounds good, with lots of different sounds and effects, all to play live on a sound system (included coffee concert). I used to date a little digitech rp-250 did not sound that bad but the realism of the sound did not suit me perfectly. And after reading several reviews of Pod XT live and also being the owner of a Variax 300 I am persuaded by the purchase of the Pod without trying!
Well after only one week of use on computer speakers with little bass I'm really happy with my choice. Since we are in the use I would say that the editing of sounds is really intuitive and easy, we understand very quickly (as long as we are accustomed to a minimum multi effects) functions, for my part I hate floor on a manual, I have looked for some clarification. Not really use level for me no problem, simple and effective.

SOUND QUALITY

Come in to his: I first started playing on the factory sounds (with a PRS SE Standard, my Variax is being repaired, I have not been able to use the Pod) and j I found the sound nice, but I never liked the sounds of general works, so I quickly began to tweak the sounds to create my own, and, soon, I thought this thing sounded really! To start I took a bank then User blank and I just used the amp in simus clear sound with the HP simulation to see the quality of basic sounds, and I soon found some settings that sounded very realistic. I was looking for a while (without having tried everything) a pedal connected to a live sound that can sound as close to an amp (tube if possible) and voila my wish come true! Very realistic, clean sounds Vox, Line 6 Hi-watt and warm sound, with real bass, good midrange fleshy, sharp highs, we believe it really is stunning! Crunches are great too (Vox, Line 6 Mood, Mesa Boogie ...), with my Start Texas Special is equipped with a treat. Large saturations out with the big sound: rhythmic rock, metal, incisive solos, everything goes well with the right settings. The effects are also well made (chorus, flanger, phasing, delays, etc ...) and distortion pedals and other overdrives, compressors, booster, etc ...
In only one week of use I'm really pleased with the sound of this machine and that does not end to amaze me every day!

OVERALL OPINION

Now it remains for me to use with my Variax because of the characteristics that made me decide to buy the Pod is the ability to also change the settings of the Variax just by changing bank for scene is really great!
I am really pleased with my purchase, I would do without hesitation, absolutely what I was looking (for a while) for use on a live sound live (I play pop rock especially).

I play for several years on a digitech RP-7 connected to a tube amp and I found my sound for quite some time, and I'm used tellemnt I've always struggled with other pedal, especially connected to a live sound system.
I think I finally found the solution and I doubt (although I have not tried but heard the Vox Tonelab) I can do better for this configuration.

So you have to start monkey, log in, drivers updater (all this with the pod color), it's going to launch the drivers, it installs them, then the end must turn on the pod. Still, I play with headphones, I register on audacity (log free) with a quality in-Croy-able

The edition of the sounds is very simple, either on the PC (very, very simple in this case, one has the guts with all the effects, we chose the effect, we change, we module, is the foundation of happiness ... in short, that) and even on the pod, is used as the two knobs near the notch ^ ^

SOUND QUALITY

I use it for one week, and I redcouvert guitar. Before I was playing on my amp with only one crados dunlop wah wah classic c'tait super good, but then, this is really a killer!
This is the essential asset of the guitarist, there are all the distortion pedals as possible, there are big muff, the wah wah dunlop, vox, full of fuzz, many of modlisations amp and very versatile, c 'is really standard

I had a small ssay Korg and Vox ToneLab is also, but frankly this is a strong line 6!

The amp models are nice and varied, and there is something for all tastes. with the packs, even better (fender, marshall, roland, Engl, Diezel, HIWATT ,...). is not the real amp, it's on! but I could make a blind test with fender deluxe double and a mesa is correct and the road. and much cheaper with more versatility.

effects are mostly simulations of pedals that I find ralistes for the blind tests also ProCD: Big Muff Pi, Boss MT-2, cry baby wah, ... the effects of line 6 is not bad at all, and even better with the pack fx (synth and so on.). the Leslie is also very beautiful. missing is an arpeggiator, a feedback and a talk box (but it is less easy, it is placed or tube?)

depending on where I play the pod is plugged in or on a peavey bandit 112 (15 years of age) or on the sound systems of any type (of course pass the sound of Yamaha concert hall), or direct console in the studio or home studio soundcard.
and according to the music I play Fender Fat Start I branch, ibanez rg 6 and 7 strings, ibanez archtop, classical and folk, and even bass.

Personal for clean sounds, I have a preferences for simulation and fender deluxe HIWATT (jazz and rock) and for saturated dpend style jou L6 Big Bottom / Diezel VH4 for and death metal, smash box and ProCo Rat for the edgy rock and many others ... there is not that I dtest, it's just that I did not express srieusement!

Boss GT8, zoom G9.2tt, Vox ToneLab v2. and I have always returned to the heat line 6 sounds, even if there are no lights.

very good, but I bought it for 300 of OCCAZ with 3 packs and the cover line 6 all in a state nickel.

The Line 6 POD XT Live is a multi-effects board that models amplifiers, stompboxes, and effects. It has a 1/4" inputs and 1/4" left (mono) and right outputs. There is also a 1/8" input for CD or MP3's player at line level with adjustable gain for that channel. There are also MIDI connections which can be used with a sequencer to change patches. There is also a connection for the Variax guitars, whose one tone patches can be saved into each patch bank for easy switching.

There are large buttons to switch on and off the amp, stompbox, and effects for each patch. There are also two buttons to switch between patch banks, each of which have four buttons to change between the patches of each bank. The patch information is visibly displayed on a screen on the floorboard. Each patch can be named.

The amp, stompbox, and effects models can be updated by purchasing patches from the Line 6 online store.

UTILIZATION

Editing the patches is very easy. The manual is extremely helpful and offers further insight into how the POD XT Live operates.

The preset sounds are pretty each, and each of them are around 80% of the way there but will probably require some tweaking to meet your individual needs. Many, many factors can be edited on each patch, including the type of microphone that is being emulated as well as its placement in front of the synthesized speaker. The amp models are EXTREMELY close to the originals in most cases.

SOUND QUALITY

The models being amplified are EXTREMELY close to the originals in most cases. Many like the sound of the POD right out of its outputs and simply record that. I only use my POD XT Live for practice and shows, and prefer to play straight through my Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier for recording. If I needed some kind of specialty patch or live effects in a studio recording environment, I would probably implement the XT as it is definitely usable. I have used it in the studio to record scratch guitar tracks.

OVERALL OPINION

At this point, I couldn't do it live without one of these wonderful Line 6 products. My only gripe is that when switching patches, if using a delay the delay is cut prematurely, with no option to continue the rest of the delay when switching patches. The original POD and POD 2.0 did not work in this way, so if there was a 2 second delay set on one patch, it would continue with the rest of the delay when another patch was punched up, making for a seamless transition. That being said, I don't have any other problems with the XT Live, and that one thing is only a minor annoyance. The consistency that the XT Live is able to provide me from show to show is tremendous and prevents me from fiddling with my amplifier too much before each performance.
