When setting up cubase 5 I had no problems with compatibility at all, the set up was easy as can be and the manual was very clear.
All the functions and objects in the program I feel are very hard to use and take a very long time to master.
I dislike how over complex cubase is for a digital audio workstation.


SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

On my set up of 4gb ram and 1.8GHz processor, this runs perfectly.
There is no lag when producing or recording in but I there always seems to be a little delay if recording piano through a mic to the playlist, this can be very annoying and you will have to do some real time moving work to get it in the right place which on this digital audio workstation is a bit of a pain.
I used it for about 2 months or a month before moving onto a different digital audio workstation as this one just seemed like too much hard work for what I managed to achieve.
I can not fault it in performance though but I just dislike how it seems to take longer to do things than it does on other DAWs.

OVERALL OPINION

It feels as though there is too much work you have to do to accomplish a simple task on this DAW.
The whole mixing down aspect of cubase 5 is a real horrible experience also, this is only my opinion but I just really dislike it.
Value for price is horrific, £600 for something as bad as this is an outrage in my opinion especially with the vsts that come bundled with it, they look like a teenager had put them together.
I would definitely not use this product or buy this product again at all, there is just something about it that is extremely frustrating about it.
I would go for a different DAW definitely.
This was the first DAW that I used and it almost put me off production all together. My friend told me to get another one and now I love producing again.

manual clear and specific on, very large, multilingual, excellent surprise by opening the box!

Incompatibility can not run some VST, even rcent, it may be to the fact that I did not upgrade the 5 5 1 makes me crash (not always resolutely )
for example in the Arturia Minimoog / 5 Modular, ARP and Prophet pass very well, but the Jupiter 8, Analog Factory, Brass and CS 80 does not pass and make me crash in the opening or they covered but open the window of the instrument is empty (Jupiter 8 and CS 80)

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

Used with Windows 7 (64 bit) on a PC assembled "on top" based Quad Core Intel I980 P. 8 GB of RAM and very good SSD 160 GB, part of my problem plugin vst, everything is very stable and even with a piece of 10 min. 28 tracks of which at least 15 with VST plugin's "additions" (ie those not included) and 1 3 effects per track on average + 2 / 3 master effects, nothing bronchus and Asio support is very very low, the level in the transport bar debonding of the minimum penalty! superb, but we Specifies that my PC is very sturdy ...

OVERALL OPINION

I use it for over a month and despite my problem with some plug-in compatible VST's I'm pretty happy, it still lacks even a "real" sampler, it Some progress Halion do with (the version should be included Halion Sonic, too bad ...)

I tried Live and Acid Pro 9 prfr but I am leaning towards a brand I knew dja (even if c'tait 15 years ago) especially as I'm on heating and Sequel 2 demo version of Cubase 5 before

I REFERRED certainly raise this choice but the price more ngociant taking Halion Sonic 2 / 3 other plug-in's with ...

The facility was long but was without problems.

I waited a few days to update the license because the site was overloaded steinberg (I got it for Christmas).

SUITABILITY/PERFORMANCE

cubase works at the time of writing this review with:
Imac 27 'DualQuadCore 8G Ram, HDD 2T and Snow Leopard.
Alesis MasterControl; Digimax D8, Yamaha Motif XS, and HP PSI

Everything running smoothly, the installation was long mainly because of all the drivers to install and configuerer.

In a bit more than 1 year of work I've only had 2 problems: a 2 times Cubase unexpectedly closed and reopened the restaurant in session.

The performances are more than correct, and it works well with the heavy sessions.


OVERALL OPINION

I therefore used for over a year and a half.
I used a few years before the famous Digidesign ProTools HD1 and a ProTools_LE for home.
I can not compare that with Digidesign ProTools.

The price / quality ratio is very correct.
We can work with a larger quantity of material.
The updates are installed simply.
We can more easily "wander around" session because Cubase is most widespread.

With a year of practice, I can say that I can do exactly the same thing with ProTools HD1 I used.

With experience, I REFERRED choice.
